International Award from Kiwanis
To top off the whole year, our event was chosen to represent all of California, Hawaii and Nevada in the Kiwanis International Signature Project Competition! This contest draws Kiwanis Clubs around the globe to compete for the honor - projects such as Special Games for specially-abled kids in Silicon Valley, Centers for Autism in Malaysia and more. Why was an art & wine festival chosen, you might ask? It's because of the sense of community, the involvement of all age-levels of volunteers, the coming together of a committed group of people who simply want to do good in the community and beyond. The kids (High School Key Clubs) raise money & awareness for Pediatric Trauma Programs, local food banks & regional disaster relief, while the adults (Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos) raise money to support local youth programs. From Special Games to scholarships for at-risk youth, student-run leadership & community service clubs at the local schools and everything in between. It's an all-volunteer run event and EVERY SINGLE PENNY goes back into the community to help kids.
